We have been learning about the Civil War and Reconstruction in social studies. The battles that we have learned about are The battles of Fort Sumter, Gettysburg, Antietam, and Bull Run; the Atlanta Campaign; and Sherman's March to the Sea. My favorite battle that I studied is the Battle of Antietam because it's interesting that it was a draw.

  1. I have enjoyed reading about the Civil War with you! It's too bad that when you go to the zoo later this fall that you will miss the Cyclorama.

The Cyclorama is the world's largest painting, and it showed the Battle of Atlanta. I remember visiting it when I was your age. It is painted in a circle that gives the image a 3D effect. For years, the Cyclorama has been located right next to the zoo, but they just closed it in July to move it to another museum. Check out this link to learn more about the Cyclorama: https://youtu.be/uHfAj-2p6ro

  2. Great post T! I have also enjoyed learning more about the Civil War with you. Maybe we can go on a road trip to some of the sites one day? That could be fun.
