5TH GRADE LEGACY PROGECT!!!!!!

The fifth grade legacy project is a project that every year each fifth grader does for the school to remember him/her when they leave the school to go to middle school. The legacy project has gone on for years. For example my two older sisters did their legacy project years before me one of  them did it 3 years before me. My other sister did it almost 5 years before me. My oldest sister,Sophie made her legacy project as a mural which is in the main hallway of Chase Street. My other sister, Ada made a chrysanthemum where each fifth grader in her class made a peal
on the flower. Our fifth grade legacy project is plaques that we painted in art class, and we painted our face up close on it. We will put all of them together and hang them up in the hall.

MAKER FAIRE

Maker Faire was a blast!! Mr. Sugiuchi's couch bike was there, and that was a blast to ride and watch. The slime station was there and that was probably my favorite station over all. There was so much cool stuff to check out, that I didn't get to check everything out. :(

There was a ice cream station that had the longest line I have ever seen. Sadly I didn't get any ice cream but Madison did and she said it was IIIISSSHHHH good. Anyway the Maker Faire was a total blast, and I hope you all went to the 2017 MAKER FAIRE!!!!!!! If you didn't go this year, then be sure to go to the 2018 Maker Faire!!!

5TH GRADE LEGACY PROJECT!!!

The 5th graders are working on legacy projects! A legacy project is a thing that 5th graders do every year and make something that will be in Chase Street for as long as Chase Street stands. A couple of ones from the past are the mural you'll see in the corner next to the 5th and 4th grade pod and the hallway going to the media center, cafeteria, art and music room, etc. Others are the flower above the doorway, to the right inside the cafeteria and the mosaics of the tree of life next to the wall to the art room. Our project this year is a bunch of small wood paintings with part of our face on them put together. It will be someplace near the cafeteria. Thank you for reading!

Final four basketball

The final four basketball tournament was really intense in competition. The real final four was South Carolina, Gonzaga, Oregon, and North Carolina. South Carolina played Gonzaga and Oregon played North Carolina. North Carolina won vs Oregon and Gonzaga won vs South Carolina. In the championship it was Gonzaga vs North Carolina, and North Carolina came out with the W. But overall there were 68 college teams competing. I wanted Oregon to win because once I realized that they were in the final four it was clear that they had a chance on winning the whole thing. But that is not how things turned out.

Maker Faire!!!

Hi! Lilly here, and I'm posting about the Maker Faire! It was held at Clarke Central on April 1st, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and there were a lot of people! There was a station where you could make some slime, and another where you could make a bouncy ball! I got to do a few loops on a knitted square, and also weave a piece of yarn onto a collaborative weaving project! A station near to that was where you could get some Styrofoam scrap, and cup it into shapes using a wire with electricity running through it! I cut out my initials with it! There were a lot of other stations too, but I didn't get them all. Sadly, Mr. Sugi and Dr. Kurtz couch-cycle broke before I got to ride. 😭😫😣😢😞 Otherwise though, it was SUPER DUPER AWESOME!!!! Bye!

F.Y.I., this is not the Couch-Cycle that Mr. Sugi and Dr. Kurtz made.

Maker Faire

Maker Faire was really fun. My friend D'yana and I had an invention there. Our invention was the Insta-Du, which is a gadget that does hair in seconds except it was only a model. All the inventions there were amazing. There was a Lego piece separator because Legos always get messed up. It was almost hard to believe that kids around my age made them. Dr. Snook was there and was letting kids make slime. There was also free ice cream! It was really hot and the ice cream was really refreshing.
