Goodbye, 5th Grade Bloggers!

Dear readers,

I'll get weepy if this post becomes too sentimental, so I'll keep things short and sweet. Today was our 5th grade bloggers' last day, and I'm going to miss them so much!

Over the course of this school year, I've enjoyed teaching them how to use Blogger, showing them how to be mindful of others' privacy and intellectual property when writing for a worldwide audience, and (most of all) reading their unique and creative perspectives on life as a 5th grader.

I am sad to see this group of students move on to middle school, and I hope they'll file blogging away among their happy memories of Chase Street. More than that, I hope they'll continue to write about their lives and experiences long after they leave our school.

Thanks for following our blogging journey this year!
Mrs. Hudson

MY LAST BLOG:(

 Hoi!

I am so sad that it is my last blog and this year is coming to an end! It is so fun and I'm going to miss it so much but I'm excited for new bloggers to come along and enjoy the experience. I love blogging and if you are a blogger someday I'm sure you will enjoy it too! I will always look back to the different blogs I made and laugh about different memories. Blogging is a treat and you should enjoy time you have there because in a bit you will be saying goodbye! One or two challenges I faced being a fifth grader were proabably that there is alot of responsibilities you take on as a fith grader, and teachers expect lots from you, but don't get me wrong being a fifth grader is exceptionally awesome. In fifth grade you do a lot more new things like long field trips and Ellis Island Day! So when you get to Fifth grade be organized and responsible but be open to many mistakes. I've met so many awesome new friends like fellow blogger Bird S. who is amazing, pretty, and kind. So advice for 5th grade: make new friends and Keep calm and Blog on!

 Bye Guys!

The Last Blog Post

悲しい時代が来ています. This is my last blog post, as you can see in the title. Whomp, whomp, whomp, whooooooooooommmmmppppp.

It really isn't fun when something really fun is no more. My favorite part of blogging was the fact that I got to blog with nice people who are really funny. For next year's bloggers, I would suggest to think of a blog topic before 11:30 so that you don't run out of time.

Two challenges I faced in fifth grade were the Milestones and the Benchmark tests, because they were terrible! But my favorite thing about this year were the field trips to places like Tallulah Gorge and the High Museum of Art.

For next year's 5th graders in general, my advice is to be prepared for a lot of fun and tests! Something I'm looking forward to is the clubs in middle school. Well, I guess this is it, that's all folks!

Last Blog....

hər kəsə salam!
This is my last blog, and I'm so sad! It's been an amazing year here at Chase Street, and I hate to leave! I have had such a great time getting to know everybody and learning all the incredible stuff our teachers have taught us. I think my favorite thing about fifth grade would be getting to know the people who have become great friends! A piece of advice for all the fourth graders who will become fifth grader bloggers next year, ALWAYS TRY TO GET THE FLOWER CHAIR, and try to use a different language for your introduction

One challenge I faced during the fifth grade year, was focusing more on my friends, than on my academics. If you get more caught up in your "social life," you'll miss out on getting a decent education. One of my favorite memories from this year was meeting my friends. Another one is having tea in Mrs. Upchurch's reading group. I will really miss Chase Street!!

A piece of advice for all the new fifth graders, stick with your friends, and (if you're in Mrs. Stokes's class) don't get a 3 1/2 or below in specials! I think the thing I'm most looking forward about 6th grade, is our connections. Connections are basically specials, but instead of STEM and all music combined together, it's orchestra, band, visual arts, and chorus. Another thing, is getting to use our phones during school. Well, I guess this goodbye...

LAST BLOG!!!

hər kəsə salam!

I am so sad that the year is almost over! This is our last blog, and soon I will be saying goodbye to all of you guys, my wonderful readers. This experience has been so amazing, from meeting the original bloggers to leaving this room with all of the code from a year's worth of blogging in my html and a sad smile on my face (and possibly tears...) because I LOVE blogging so much! For advice to next year's bloggers- stay awesome and LOVE blogging because it is something to keep in your hearts forever... Wow, I am getting way too sappy! Sorry guys! It's just that being a blogger is so awesome! #1- you get to miss homeroom time, and #2- you will get to hang out with people from different classes and maybe just people in your class that you haven't gotten to know, and you will soon love them all like brothers and sisters! Man, this year has been so memorable, from the activities that we've gone through to the people I've met (even going from purple tips to a pixie). Keep loving blogging, and I will now say goodbye. O_o (I don't want to though)

Bye everyone! Keep Calm and Blog On!
Bird the Blogger and Soon-To-Be Sixth Grader

The last day of school:) :( !!!

Hello everybody! This is the last blog post I will do. I loved being a blogger. We got to talk about all sorts of things and we had a ton of fun with Ms. Hudson. I think that next year's bloggers should read over your blog every time so that you know you have no mistakes.

I had a few challenges in 5th grade. The math and writing were getting hard. One of my favorite memories is Ellis Island Day, and that was extraordinary!

I hope next year's 5th graders get ready for a lot of hard work! I'm looking forward to having some cool teachers in 6th grade. I hope you have nice year and like I said, this is my last blog post and I will miss you all.

Last Blog

I cannot believe that this is our last post!  I am using the Times font right now because I have had a great time as a fifth grade blogger. I am very sad because I always looked forward to blogging every Thursday. If I had to tell the future bloggers a piece of advice, then I would tell them to write what you want to write about and use your own opinion and not what someone else thinks.

The biggest challenges that I faced in fifth grade were homework and lots of projects. My favorite memories from fifth grade were Ellis Island Day and drinking tea in reading with Mrs.Upchurch.

If I could give advice to next year's fifth graders, then I would tell them to just work hard and follow instructions in class. The thing that I am looking forward to the most about sixth grade is having more independence and not staying with one teacher for the whole day. I will really miss blogging.

                                    Bye, Josie T.

OUR LAST BLOG POST

I feel so sad that this is our very last blog!!! My favorite thing about being a 5th grade blogger was that we got to talk about what we have been doing because I like to express my thoughts and feelings. TO NEXT YEAR'S BLOGGERS: DON'T WAIT TO THE LAST MINUTE TO COME UP WITH A TOPIC OR YOU MIGHT NOT FINISH YOUR BLOG!

One thing that was hard for me this year was that in math I had trouble multiplying and dividing decimals. My favorite memories of 5th grade are Ellis Island and Zoo Atlanta. They were awesome times even though Ellis Island was dysfunctional because the fire alarm went off. Also the field days are awesome.

This is to all the 5th graders: ALWAYS TURN IN YOUR HOMEWORK OR BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. I am looking forward to lockers and meeting new people in middle school, and also having more than one teacher. But I will miss all the wonderful staff and students at Chase Street. GOODBYE FOREVER.

LOVE, FRENYA

Leaf

Hi there! The year is coming to an end and there is so much happening now. One thing is that is happening is I am going to Leaf! It is a festival in North Carolina with face painting, beadmaking, dancing, hula hooping, ziplining, and much, much, more. Although it will be on the day of Field Day, which is a bummer, but it is really cool at Leaf. We camp out and stay up late and go see the festival and shops. I can't wait for Leaf! There is a hamster ball, and spider jump, a kids market, and food stands. Although it will be a long drive, I will miss field day, and it will mess up my piano recital schedule. I will miss school, get to go camping out, and see people on stilts! Can't wait!

FIELD DAY AND TALENT SHOW!!!!!

I can't wait for field day! I can't wait to play all the fun games. I loved last year's field day. My favorite thing in field day is archery. We have these plastic bows and the arrows are wooden sticks with erasers at the top. I liked the water games. They are so fun. The theme this year is Star Wars.

Field day is also the same day as the talent show. The talent show is always fun to watch! I was in the talent show last year, too. I did some jokes and not those crummy knock-knock jokes. I did jokes from the comedian Jim Gaffigan. It was super fun.

I cannot wait for next Friday the 13th!

Visual Arts

Pozdrav ljudi moji! Today I'm going to type about Vizualna umjetnost, Visual Arts in middle school. The choices are Art, Band, Orchestra, and Chorus. At the moment, I want to go to Band. I might go to art though to be with all my friends. I want to go to band because I want to learn the guitar and my dad wants me to. But I also want to go to art because my mom wants me to and almost all of my friends are going there. Well, I guess that's all folks (also, by the way, the language is Bosnian)!

vidimo se,
Tommy

End of Fifth Grade!

Hi!
I'm so sad, because this is the the second-to-last blog post, and it's almost the end of fifth grade! This has been an amazing year, and I will be so sad to leave! I've made so many great friends, and all the teachers here are awesome! I am kind of excited to start middle school though! We start school later, we have uniforms, and we have free periods instead of recess! That sounds awesome, although the uniforms aren't necessarily the most exciting thing. Almost ALL of fifth grade is going to Clarke Middle. All the friends I'm really close to are going to Clarke, so I think I'll be fine! We are doing a lot of activities before the end of the year, for example, the Talent Show, Fifth Grade Fun Day, etc. The only part that I will really miss is my fourth grade friend, Batiste. It's gonna be weird to not have him around to hang out with after school. Anyway, I will miss blogging, and Chase! I think that's all for now!
                     Goodbye for now!

5th GRADE IS COMING TO AN END!!!!

The last day of school is on May 20. It has been an awesome year. We have had so many awesome field trips, many fun activities, and marvelous teachers. Even through I haven't been here for all my school life, it feels like it. All the teachers I have had have been so magnificent. I've loved all of the books I read during this year. Engineering Club has been mind-blowing, especially when we had the competition. In book clubs, we have had some good books and some weird books.  Our school musicals have been really amazing. Chorus has had the best songs ever.

Egg Drop and Pasta Mobile

Last Friday in Engineering Club, the fifth grade club and the fourth grade club went head to head in two competitions: egg drop and pasta mobile!  If you already didn't know, egg drop is when you have to make a contraption that will hold an egg and when your device is dropped that the egg won't break. Pasta mobile is when you have to make a car entirely out of pasta, and then you roll it down a ramp and see how far it rolls.

Me and fellow blogger Frenya did the pasta mobile together and we got third place! But fourth grade got first place. I then went solo on egg drop and when they dropped my contraption, it made a really loud sound.

We had to do our own science competition because we were going to go to Science Olympiad but when our computer lab teacher, Mr. Sugi, called the company, they said that they had no more room for another school. I was angry during egg drop because not many eggs broke, so they went by weight to find the winner! Mine was the heaviest so I lost. I will just have to wait till next year in sixth grade.

                                                      Bye, Josie T.

Last Days & What's Up

Tere!

We are SO close to the last week of school! We are closing up on a ton of subjects like clubs and writing projects. I am so sad to think that we just had our last library session! Luckily, we have another blogging time so I can give you the run-down about everything that will happen when we leave. Also, so many fun activities that we will take part in for the end of the year. Things like the Talent Show and Fifth Grade Fun Day will be soooo amazing to celebrate leaving the school. That's all for now!

Bye!
