Froggy Friend Day!

Hey there!

I haven't blogged for a long time and a lot has happened, but one thing is Froggy Friend day!! Froggy Friend day is a day that celebrates Mentors and Froggy Friends. Mentors are teens who join you during activities, or if you need a tutor. A Froggy Friend is an adult in the school who is kinda like a mentor, except they usually meet with you once a week and are not tutors. I have a Froggy Friend, and it is Mrs. Hudson the librarian. One more thing about Froggy Friends are that another student in the school can have the same Froggy Friend, like my friend Pierce A. We both share a Froggy Friend. Every year there is a different theme. This year's theme was the jungle and rainforest. We got fruit smoothies played games and had a photoshoot with rainforest stuffed animals. Froggy friend and Mentor day is very fun and everyone always has a good time.

High Museum of Art

Dobrý den, moji lidé!

Hello! Even though it has been 2 weeks since we have been there, I'm still going to write about the High Museum of Art. It was very cool seeing the art of Vik Muniz and Iris van Herpen's dresses. My favorite dress series is Metallic and my favorite painting was the chocolate Jackson Pollock. It has been nice typing for you! By the way, the language in my greeting and closing is Czech.

později! Tommy

Talent Show!!!!!!!

Ahoj! Sorry for no blogs lately, but we haven't had blogging lately! I've really missed doing blogs, and I'm happy to be back! Anyway, I'm blogging about the......... TALENT SHOW!!! Me, Maggie S., Charlotte S., and maybe Ned A. are doing a skit about Girl Scout Cookies! So, the skit we are doing is planned out like this:
Maggie: "Oh man, I really wish I had some cookies!"Maggie turns on the T.VPenelope [Me]: "Nutritious, and delicious, they're Girl Scout Cookies!"Ned: "Now made with REAL Girl Scouts!"Maggie [Turning off the T.V]: "REAL GIRL SCOUTS?!?!?!?!?!?!"The doorbell ringsMaggie [opening the door]: "Hello?"Charlotte: "WANT SOME GIRL SCOUT COOKIES?!?!?!"Maggie: "NOOOO!!!!!!"
That's basically our whole skit! I'm pretty excited, but also kind of nervous at the same time. Our auditions are tomorrow at 9:00 to 9:30, which means I get to miss 30 minutes of math! I think that's all for now.

On April 13, we went to the High Museum to see the Eric Carle  and the Vik Muniz exhibit.  Vik Muniz had a peanut butter and jelly artwork. It was a portrait of Mona Lisa. My favorite was the spaghetti artwork of a plate. The Eric Carle exhibit was showing some artwork from his books. My favorite book by Eric Carle is Little Cloud. It was a very long bus ride to the field trip. It took about a hour and a half.

On April 15, Clarke Middle's Fine Arts came to our school. They had Art, Band, Orchestra, and Chorus. These below are what our fellow bloggers want to do:

  • Tommy: Band
  • Josie: Art
  • Bird: Art
  • Penelope: Orchestra
  • Charlotte: Unknown
  • Owen: Orchestra
  • Me: Band
The people from art were amazing artists. The chorus was quiet. The orchestra and the band were awesome. Hope everyone gets what they want.

EARTH DAY!!!

I'm going to write about EARTH DAY! Earth Day was last Friday. I remembered to recycle, did you remember to recycle? On Earth Day, I saw so much recycling. I picked up some trash, nails, and glass. Then I put them in the recycling bin. Some people do not recycle. That is very bad for Earth. People also release chemicals in the air. This is also bad for Earth. This pollutes Earth. That makes it so life can't form. It kills trees. It can give people sickness. We are trying to fix this problem. We are doing this by recycling. That is what happens on Earth Day.

Clarke Middle Fine Arts

Two Fridays ago, Clarke Middle came to tell us about about their extracurricular activities such as art, orchestra, band, and chorus. I figured out what activity to sign up for by thinking, ''I know I am bad at singing so no to chorus, and I don't like the instruments in band so no to band, and I already know how to play an instrument so no to orchestra, and that left art.'' I also really wanted to do art because I like the teacher, Mr. Perry. I know Mr. Perry because he was our student teacher for our art class and he substituted  for our art teacher, Mrs. Dean, while she was out on maternity leave. I can't wait to be in art in middle school!
                                  Bye, Josie T.
