Book Report: Only the Good Spy Young, By Ally Carter

Hi! It's me, Lilly, and I'm doing a book report on Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter! It's the fourth in a really good series (the series doesn't really have a name, I call it The Gallagher Series), and all the titles are play-offs of sayings (eg., Only the Good Spy Young, instead of only the good die young)! Before I actually review, I'm going to list all the books.

It starts with Cammie Morgan staying in London with her best friend Bex Baxter for winter break, and when they're ice skating she runs into Zach Goode who's from Blackthorne Academy, and he tells her that one of Cammie and Bex's teachers has gone missing. They leave the rink, and run into the teacher that went missing, and for some reason, Bex's parents don't trust him. Mr. Solomon (the teacher that was missing) jumps off of Tower Bridge.

Cammie gets interrogated by an m16 agent, and has no information. She gets to see her Aunt Abby, and then goes back to school for the rest of her Junior year at The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women (it's really a spy school). The person who interrogated her becomes their Co-Ops teacher. Her teacher actually doesn't teach much for Co-Ops.

As Cammie tries to figure out what happened to Mr. Solomon, she has to hack, and steal, and sneak to find the truth. She has to go on a field test thing, where she runs into Mr. Solomon, and he gets taken.

Cammie goes into Sublevel 3, along with her friends Bex, Liz, and Macey, who all find the diary that was Cammie's father's, and then Mr. Solomon's. She learns that Mr. Solomon DID NOT kill Cammie's dad.

Cammie, her friends, and Zach sneak into Blackthorne Academy, who's cover is apparently a detention place for boys (and is ACTUALLY a school for boys who will become spies/assassins), then sneak into a cave that isn't used anymore. They run into The Circle of Cavan again, and one of their leader's is APPARENTLY Zach's MOTHER! Cammie falls down the waterfall, AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDD................................. I refuse to spoil the ending! Sorry! Read through the series to find the ending!

If I had to give this a star rating, I'd have to do five, because that's the highest rating allowed, though I would MUCH rather give it a 50 star! See ya!

The Book Fair

The book fair is an event that you can come to and buy books. They have all sorts of books. There  are books for all ages, so if you like books this is the place for you. I got a bunch of books and they were all very good. The week before the book fair, my class went to the library. We watched a video on some of the books that were for sale. I thought some of them looked really interesting, like Took or The Enemy Above. I hope that you got some good books too! I would like it if you made a note in the comments box about what book at the book fair was your favorite!

BOOK FAIR!!!

Next week the book fair is getting set up. It is really exciting because we are going to have a book store in our own school! I am really exited to maybe get the book Took. This book is about an evil spirit who is taking little girls. A little boy named Daniel doesn't believe in it but when his sister Erica disappears he changes his mind. I really hope I can get this book. It seems interesting. Mary Downing Hahn is the author of Took and also many others like Deep and Dark and Dangerous that I have at home.

Mighty Jack Book Reveiw

Mighty Jack is a book that came out recently, written and illustrated by Ben Hatke. Personally I love the book! Mighty Jack is a book that is kind of like a twist on Jack and beanstalk. As in, there is a boy who is having a bad summer, but he's got a good reason: summer is when his mom works all day at two jobs,and leaves him at home to watch his autistic little sister, Maddy. Then, one day they go to flea market with their mom and his sister and and some one gives him an interesting offer to buy seeds. They end up trading his mom's car for the seeds (his mom probably shouldn't have given him the keys). What will happen when they plant the seeds? Ben Hatke!

On September 28 we got to meet Ben Hatke! He came to our school and told us about a lot of things he does with his books. He told us that he has two does one goes east and one goes west. He said he wants to go out one and walk all the way around the world and come back in the other door. He has many goals. He is incredible! His books are really good and very fun to read. When he was done with everything he was going to say, he did a flip. It was so cool. It was a fun day!

Clubs

We got our new clubs last week, and we got to go to clubs finally. I am in board game club with Dr. Adams. It is really fun, and we just play board games. It is really fun playing a lot of fun games like Lanterns, chess, Mancala, Code Names. The only down part is that there are in a really small room with like twenty kids playing board games. All of her games are fun but some are boring, like Mastermind and take a long time to play. But the I think that I made a pretty good choice on picking that club and you should too.

Ben Hatke Author Visit!

I am really excited to announce that Ben Hatke came to our school on the 28th of September. If you don't know who Ben Hatke is, he is an author to the most popular book Zita the Spacegirl one, two, and three. Ben Hatke has also made a few picture books in his career like the Little Robot, Nobody Likes a Goblin, and Julia's House for Lost Creatures. Ben Hatke in my opinion is the most creative person in the world. Ben Hatke has two kitchen doors facing east, and a door facing west. His dream is to go out one of the two doors and walk all the way around the world, and go through the other door, when he is finished, but he can not travel by plane. He also has made a brand new book Mighty Jack. Mighty Jack is a graphic novel. Now I am going to make my point Ben Hatke is awesome, and I would definitely recommend reading all of his books, and I think I know one of the reasons students love him. At the end of the discussion he did a back flip.

Author Visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week the awesome author and illustrator of Zita the Spacegirl is came to Chase Street! He came to talk about his new book Mighty Jack.

I have already read the book and it is awesome! I do have to warn you that it leaves you at a huge cliffhanger. Be ready to read the next book because he is already working on it. He talked about his life, how he knows what to write, and what his characters are like. Here are some pictures of the drawings he made while he was here:

My favorite part of the presentation was when he was talking about his writing and when he did the cartwheel back flip. I thought he was awesome and hope he will come again soon.

Sawubona!

Hi! Today I'm writing about how on 9/22/16, we're switching specials times with 4th grade! Our math time has been split up, and between the the two parts, we have specials, while, during the first part of math or so, fourth grade is doing specials! I thought this was better then all the math at once, so I'm thinking about asking to keep it this way! If you'd like, leave a comment, and say what you think about that! Ben Hatke

Ben Hatke came to our school. Ben Hatke is an author and illustrator. He created Zita the Space Girl and a new book named Mighty Jack. Ben Hatke also has a blog. He also has created other books such as Little Robot and Julia's House of Lost Creatures. He is on tour, and Athens,GA was one of his stops. I can assume that he is a very creative person because he made up all of the characters in his book and drew them. He also he said "I have one door facing East and one door facing West, I want to go out the East door (go all the way around the world) and go in to my home from my East door." (Not quite his exact words.) When he visited he drew a picture of Zita the Space Girl that he let us keep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
