The thing I want to be when I grow up is an NBA(National Basketball Association) basketball player. The person I want to become like is Kobe Bryant. He plays for the Lakers. When I get older, I am going to have a Lamborghini and ride in a limo. I am also going to have millions and trillions of dollars. The team I want to get drafted to is the Rockets. One of the players that I like on that team is James Harden, but he probably will not be playing when I start playing

If I Were A Teacher by Caleb M

Hi, my name is Caleb. I'm going to talk about growing up as a teacher. If I was a teacher, I would be a math teacher. When you are a kid you do not have to  talk, you can sit down and listen. When you are a teacher, you have to talk to a lot students. You have to do a lot of work and make plans. You have to do jobs. You do not have time play around as a teacher! If you are a kid, you have time to play. Not like  teachers! I'd rather be a teacher than a kid!

Going to Middle School By Julian

Next year I'll be going to middle school. I'm definitely ready to go. After being at this school for 7 years I'm ready to go. You get to bring your phones  to school, chew gum, and sit at the tables you want to at lunch, and a lot of other stuff. The teachers are supposed to be really nice and so are the students. Even though most of the things I've heard about Clarke Middle are good still there are some things that I'm not looking forward to for this next school year. The problem is you can't play school sports until 7th grade which I don't like.

The Pros and Cons of Being an Adult! -Julia L.

There are many bad things about being an adult, and many good, too. This is a short story of what being an adult would be like. The BAD things are in the next few sentences.... Paying bills, all those BILLS!!! Taking care of KIDS! Even I'M a kid and I'm saying this. Laundry. Laundry, laundry LAUNDRY! Buying a picture-perfect house for you. If you have kids or not, buying food! At least once a week you have to buy food! Well the pros are in THESE next few sentences. You can buy a picture-perfect house. (A pro AND con.) You are old, and very responsible! No need to be worried about getting in trouble! You can ground your OWN kids! People respect you more when you're an adult! There are many more Pros AND Cons than this, but these are my opinions. Would you rather be an adult...? Or a kid...? (Kid for me). Spelling Bee By: ARIANA

Yesterday, there was a spelling bee. There were 18 students who entered in the spelling bee. There were 3 students from each class. The students were in 4th grade and in 5th grade. The winner was Lena Cook, and in second place it was Jack Martin. Since they were such good spellers, the spelling bee  had to be finished in the library. Everyone was very nervous because they wanted their child to win. Well that was the fun part but wait till I get to the boring part that the 5th grade had to do. So, after the spelling bee had finished, the whole 5th grade had to put the tables in order because they were out of order so everybody could fit in.

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN  5 DAYS! I'm so excited because I have never been there before! I'm going to stay there for 4 days! I'm staying at the Old Key West Resort, where all of the Disney stars stay! I am going to try to go on all of the rides! (I love roller coasters!) I have heard a lot of good things from friends so far and I am having trouble containing my happiness! I am going with my cousins, my aunts, and my grandparents. I can't wait!

New Books By: ARIANA

Recently our school library got new books. You should come and read some at Chase Street. They are very interesting books. For example, some of the titles of the books are the series of Spirit Animals, The Land of the Silver Apples, and Foods of Mexico. I think we are going to enjoy them.

The Aquarium! By Brighton

The fifth graders are going to the Georgia Aquarium! I am really excited! We are doing a research paper on an animal from the Aquarium,  I am studying an Asian small clawed otter! It is so adorable! So far I am writing my second rough draft. Everyone in the fifth grade is doing this report, and I'm kind of worried I wont finish in time. This is probably going to be a short post because there is not much more to write about. I really hope I'll finish in time!

Hi, my name is Caleb. I'm going to talk about the Georgia Aquarium. All fifth graders will be going on the field trip to the Georgia Aquarium on February 3rd, 2015. I went to the Georgia Aquarium over the summer and it has different types of fishes. They have a cool elevator and it takes a little ride. The field trip will take more than 1 hour and 30 minutes, probably 2 hours or so! If you have never been to Georgia Aquarium, I think you should visit there. It is pretty awesome!

New Basketball Goal: By Lamar H

So......Chase Street Elementary School got a new basketball goal! Everybody likes the school basketball goal. We always play a game like three on three or four on four. The PTO raised money for the goal. The people from the PTO and the school put the goal up for us. Before we play a game we always warm up with a couple of shots. We also have a basketball goal in the gym, but we don't use those a lot because the gym is always being used by PE classes.

Hunger Games By Julian

For the past couple of months I have been reading the Hunger Games. The books are really good! I am on the third one right now. It is about a girl named Katniss who is drafted to go the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a competition that is where people go into a arena kind of place where kids try to kill one another and be the last one standing. But the year that Katniss went into the arena, she and her fake lover boy, Peeta win together and they are both victors. The third book is about a war between the Capitol and the District 13 which is where Katniss is staying. She is called the mockingjay of the rebel army. This series is really good. It is probably one of the best series I've ever read.

The Ellis Island Simulation -Julia L.

In 5th grade right now, we are talking about the Ellis Island immigrants! We can dress up, pack a bag full of stuff we think immigrants would have in bags, and learn a LOT more about Ellis Island! A little about coming into Ellis Island, they could only get a medical check for 6 seconds!! If they brought a disease in, they had to go back to their old country. They also had to be able to sign the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language, read in English, and answer many questions like, 'Who is the president of the United States?' and lots of other governmental questions. It was pretty hard to get into the US, but only 2% had to go back to their old country. Lots of parents are volunteering, and we are gonna have lots of fun!!!

Man, I am back in school from Christmas break! When I was out of school, I did a lot of fun things and one boring thing. Which one do you want first.....? Well, I will give you the boring news first. That is that I went to Florida. The fun part is that I got what I wanted  for Christmas. The thing I wanted was a PlayStation 4, and I got a lot of games: NBA 2K15, Madden 25, Madden 15, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Battlefield 4, Destiny, The Crew, Farcry 4, and Call of Duty Ghost. I also got a PlayStation Plus Card and Headset.

Hi, my name is Caleb. Over Christmas Break, I went to see some Christmas lights on the 2 days before Christmas Day. On the second day, I went to a knight castle for a Christmas present. We had to eat with our hands because back then they had no silverware, and we were on the green side of the team. Suddenly, the knights started to fight each other. They were on different sides. When they were fighting, they had a sword and shield to fight each other. On Christmas Day, I got Erasable Colored Pencils, Nike shoes, some slippers, two pairs of pj's , a blue Lamborghini toy car, and a little yellow toy car.

5th Grade Trip By: ARIANA

Today I am going to tell you about our 5th grade trip. We are going to go to the Georgia Aquarium. I think it is going to be fun. I am going to tell you about what parts I think we are going to be in. One of those parts is going into the tunnel. Well, I know I am going to have fun.  We are going on February 3, 2015. I hope we will enjoy it!

Christmas was amazing!!! I loved seeing my family and friends! I also got a LOT of presents! Most of them were art supplies, or money, but still awesome!  On New Years I was sick, but I still got to watch movies and stuff. My mom must have been in a cat mood because she got me two cat puzzles and Cat-Opoly! I also gave some presents to family and friends, but now that Christmas break is over I get to see my friends at school!

Christmas Break!!! By Julia L.

This is the first Friday back from Christmas Break. We just found out that we are going to the Georgia Aquarium soon! Anyways, over the break, I got presents, of course, and here is my top 3 favorites-

• A big art kit containing, pastels, paint, colored pencils, markers, and drawing pencils


• A bed spread


• DS game

I got lots more presents, but those are just a few. On Christmas Eve we went to my grandparents' house, and ate tons of good food! Then we got home, and pretty much waited for Christmas!! We didn't go anywhere else then that. But we ARE going to my other grandparents' beach house in February!! On New Years, we stayed up until 1:30, or 2. That's pretty much all we did! Nothing much, but it was still very fun!

Coming Back To School By: Julian

Ugh, Christmas break is over. Back to getting up at 6:30 in the morning and getting out at 2:30. Back to homework, books, and classes. The main part I miss is getting up at noon and going to bed at midnight. Then the video games! I got a lot of new games for my PlayStation like madden 15, and now I can't play it till weekends. Also I will miss going to my grandma's house and getting presents. Christmas break is over now and I will have to wait another year before I can get out of school again.
